I would not get some expensive paint like HOK for your first time, and for a mirage.. get some cheap shit.

look up smartshoppers on the net and get one of there paint kits. They sell a cheap single stage paint that the include a clear coat with. The kit cost like 200 and comes with everything including including primer and mixing cups. You may want to try that first, this is my first attempt at painting and it came out pretty good for a rush job..

I hadn't heard that but after painting my car I was told that painting with a single stage is a lot harder then a base coat clear coat system. My car is painted in a single stage that you are able to spray clear over and it does have some runs that I didnt fix before clearing. Plus I was using a $80 paint gun set I bought from a parts store. I have a 75 Caprice Rag that I'm going to paint this winter and I'm going to use a true 2-stage paint system and I may upgrade my guns.

Just saying dont expect to buy the most expensive gun and lay down wet wet your first coat...

Just takes time and practice like everything else
